A new species of Sphairothrombium (Acari: Microtrombidiidae) from Turkey, with the first description of the larva of the genusKarakurt, İbrahimSevsay, SevgiAcarilaboratory rearingmicrotrombidiinaepalearcticparasitengonaSphairothrombium gabrysisp. nov. is described based on the adult and larva. Larvae were obtained by laboratory rearing from a field-collected female. The larval stage of the genus is described for the first time.
