The search considers final states with an electron or a muon, one or two τ leptons that decayed to hadrons, and additional jets. The data were collected in 2016 in proton–proton collisions at s=13Te with the CMS detector at the LHC, and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 35.9fb-1. No evidence for pair production of LQs is found. Assuming a branching fraction of unity for the decay LQ → t τ, upper limits on the production cross section are set as a function of LQ mass, excluding masses below 900Ge at 95% confidence level. These results provide the most stringent limits to date on the production of scalar LQs that decay to a top quark and a τ lepton. © 2018, CERN for the benefit of the CMS collaboration.</dc:description><dc:publisher>Springer Nature</dc:publisher><dc:date>2018</dc:date><dc:type>Article</dc:type><dc:identifier>https://rdlopen.rawdatalibrary.net/r/ebyu/14295</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>https://doi.org/10.1140/epjc/s10052-018-6143-z</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>1434-6044</dc:identifier><dc:language>en</dc:language><dc:relation>European Physical Journal C</dc:relation><dc:rights>info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess</dc:rights><dc:type>info:eu-repo/semantics/article</dc:type><dc:identifier>https://ebyu-rdlopen.rawdatalibrary.net/tr/items/ebyu/14295</dc:identifier></oai_dc:dc></metadata></record></GetRecord></OAI-PMH>
