Their role in language policy and linguistic nationalism is pervasive. Today, in Turkey, two religious movements of the same origin play a key role in linguistic nationalism and decision-making in language policy: the Gülen movement and the Med-Zehra movement. These two non-governmental affinities are important groups in the Nur movement. The Gülen movement is supportive of Turkish nationalism and thereby Turkish language and identity, while the Med-Zehra group emphasizes Kurdish identity and separatism. This study makes a comparison between the two movements and investigates in detail their role in language policy and linguistic nationalism. © 2017 Cambridge University Press.</dc:description><dc:publisher>Cambridge University Press</dc:publisher><dc:date>2017</dc:date><dc:type>Review Article</dc:type><dc:identifier>https://rdlopen.rawdatalibrary.net/r/ebyu/14865</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>https://doi.org/10.1017/s1468109917000019</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>1468-1099</dc:identifier><dc:language>en</dc:language><dc:relation>Japanese Journal of Political Science</dc:relation><dc:rights>info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess</dc:rights><dc:type>info:eu-repo/semantics/review</dc:type><dc:identifier>https://ebyu-rdlopen.rawdatalibrary.net/tr/items/ebyu/14865</dc:identifier></oai_dc:dc></metadata></record></GetRecord></OAI-PMH>
