Seven species, M. muscaedomesticae (Scopoli, 1772); M. glaber (Müller, 1860); M. perglaber Filipponi & Pegazzano, 1962; M. scutatus (Berlese, 1904); M. merdarius (Berlese, 1889); M. subbadius (Berlese, 1904); and M. robustulus (Berlese, 1904), were recorded from the valley. M. perglaber, M. scutatus, and M. subbadius are first records for the Turkish fauna. Original drawings and diagnoses for all known species of the genus from the valley are included.
