Our findings illustrated that GT could be a potential learning tool for self-directed language learners. However, GT's capabilities for particular language pairs and learner qualities, such as machine translation literacy, motivation, and autonomy, play a significant role in its efficacy for language learning. Additionally, a tandem partnership can be utilized effectively to overcome GT's limitations for low proficiency-level LCTL learners.</dc:description><dc:publisher>UNIV TORONTO PRESS INC</dc:publisher><dc:date>2025</dc:date><dc:type>Article</dc:type><dc:identifier>https://rdlopen.rawdatalibrary.net/r/ebyu/16462</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>https://doi.org/10.3138/calico-2024-1219</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>2056-9017</dc:identifier><dc:language>en</dc:language><dc:relation>CALICO JOURNAL</dc:relation><dc:rights>info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess</dc:rights><dc:type>info:eu-repo/semantics/article</dc:type><dc:identifier>https://ebyu-rdlopen.rawdatalibrary.net/tr/items/ebyu/16462</dc:identifier></oai_dc:dc></metadata></record></GetRecord></OAI-PMH>
