Against the obvious challenge of Qur’an, although they were at their peak in all fields of literature, Arabs were incapable of forming a similar book to Qur ’an. The overwhelming majority of the Islamic scholars attributed the unattainability of Qur ’an to its being a book with such a highly-divine level that human beings would remain incapable of producing even a similar one. Others, however, depended the fact that Qur’an cannot be replicated on the basis that Allah withdrew the power and efforts to do so from the human beings. Although this view, which belongs to Ṣarfa sect, was first expressed by Muʿtazilite scholars in order to eliminate the idea of believing in more than one qadīm, it was accepted by Imāmiyya scholars as a theory closely related to the iʿjāz of Qurʾān. Scholars from two different sects, one with a literalist interpretation tradition and another with a rationalist interpretation tradition, reached to consensus about the iʿjāz of Qurʾān. This study examines the causes and grounds of Imāmiyya scholars to argue the ṣarfa theory and aims to put forward that the iʿjāz aspect of Qurʾān is explained through internal reasons according to the general understanding of the sect. In addition, this study aims to reveal that the first representatives of the Usūliyya school, who are also the influence of the Mu'tazilites, explained the miracle of Qur'ān with ṣarfa.</dc:description><dc:date>2023</dc:date><dc:type>Article</dc:type><dc:identifier>https://rdlopen.rawdatalibrary.net/r/ebyu/17823</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>https://doi.org/10.34085/buifd.1394679</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>2147-0774</dc:identifier><dc:language>tr</dc:language><dc:relation>Bingöl Üniversitesi İlahiyat Fakültesi Dergisi</dc:relation><dc:rights>info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess</dc:rights><dc:type>info:eu-repo/semantics/article</dc:type><dc:identifier>https://ebyu-rdlopen.rawdatalibrary.net/tr/items/ebyu/17823</dc:identifier></oai_dc:dc></metadata></record></GetRecord></OAI-PMH>
