Constitutional Justice and Extender İnterpretationAKINCI, FatihHukukThe interpretation activity is the activity of revealing the expressions whose meanings are hidden. To reveal the meanings of expressions, various methods are being used regarding concepts. Among the legal texts, there are texts whose meanings are hidden or not clear enough. The meanings of these expressions are revealed by using interpretation principles and interpretation methods. Functions of the constitutions is to protect the rights and freedoms and to balance the rights in case of conflict of interest between individuals and institutions. The issue of balancing the rights is an issue that the Constitutional Court emphasizes in its decisions and that should be taken into account by all judicial authorities in the establishment of justice. The Constitutional Court, which examines individual applications, norm control, closure of political parties and applications to be heard in the supreme court, tries to reveal the meaning of the norm while determining the concepts and the norm to be applied. Interpretation activities are carried out by choosing certain interpretation principles by using various interpretation methods. One of the interpretation principles preferred by the Constitutional Court when making its decision is the principle of expansionary interpretation. The principle of interpretation that expands the scope of the norm is the principle of expansionary interpretation.
