A study on application of cooperative learning Through Science and Technology courseBEYAZTAŞ, DİLEK İLHANKapti, SuzanYağcı, EsedEğitimEğitim AraştırmalarıThis research aims to investigate the use of cooperative learning method by secondary school science teachers. The study group consists of 6 teachers from three schools among 76 secondary schools in Ankara, Yenimahalle, specified via stratified sampling method. The researchers have developed “Cooperative Learning Observation Form” and “Cooperative Learning Interview Form for Teachers” in order to obtain relevant data for the analysis. These forms contain some of the elements of cooperative learning methods such as “Team-Game Tournament, Student Teams-Achievement Divisions, and Jigsaw”. The data derived from observation forms and interviews were analyzed by using descriptive methods. The findings of this research indicate that all teachers in three schools do not have relevant information about cooperative learning.
