Pyocolpometrasalpingitis Due to Imperforate Hymen in a Preschool ChildKoc, UralÖzkaya, Mehmet OkanGenel ve Dahili TıpHymen imperforatus occurs unless the central hymenal part ruptures in perinatal period and incidence rate is 0.1% at term birth. Unless diagnosed at prenatally or perinatally, imperforate hymen cases are generally asymptomatic until puberty. Utero-vaginal secretions can be collected if the passage of vaginal introitus interrupted by such a condition like imperforate hymen. Rarely, the collections may be infected and pyocolpos, pyometra or pyocolpometrasalpingitis can occur. Five years-old girl with multiple collections due to imperforate hymen was presented by sonographic and clinical findings. However, imperforate hymen is diagnosed by physical examination, it can not be recognized unless a detail genital examination is done.
