Üyesi Hasan Buğra EKİNCİCoachErzincanSWOT AnalysisParentSummer Sports SchoolsAntrenörErzincanSwot AnaliziVeliYaz Spor OkullarıAmaç: Bu araştırmanın amacı, yaz spor okullarının mevcut yapısını, işleyiş süreçlerini, sunduğu sportif ve sosyal potansiyeli ile karşı karşıya kaldığı sorunları; sürecin temel paydaşları olan antrenör ve velilerin görüşleri doğrultusunda SWOT analizi çerçevesinde kapsamlı bir biçimde incelemektir.
Materyal ve Metot: Araştırmada nitel araştırma yaklaşımı benimsenmiş ve durum çalışması deseni kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, 2025 yılı yaz döneminde Erzincan ilinde faaliyet gösteren yaz spor okullarında görev yapan 8 antrenör ile çocuklarını bu okullara kayıt ettiren 8 veli olmak üzere amaçlı örnekleme yöntemiyle belirlenen toplam 16 katılımcı oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma verileri yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu aracılığıyla toplanmış; elde edilen verilerin analizinde içerik analizi tekniğinden yararlanılmıştır.
Bulgular: SWOT analizi sonucunda, güçlü yönleri kapsamında çocukların kişisel ve sosyal gelişimine katkı sağlaması, yetenek keşfi ve performans sporuna kaynak oluşturması ile çocukları olumsuz alışkanlıklardan uzak tutma yönü ön plana çıkmıştır. Zayıf yönler kapsamında ise aşırı katılım nedeniyle eğitim kalitesinde yaşanan düşüş ile ulaşım ve lojistik sorunlarının öne çıktığı belirlenmiştir. Fırsatlar boyutunda yetenek yönetimi ve topluma sağlıklı bireyler kazandırma potansiyeli dikkat çekmektedir. Tehditler kategorisinde ise ulaşım güçlükleri, kalabalıktan kaynaklanan güvenlik riskleri ve yaz dönemi sonrasında sürdürülebilir olmaması önemli sorun alanları olarak ortaya çıkmıştır.
Sonuç: Erzincan ilindeki yaz spor okullarının önemli bir sosyal ve sportif potansiyele sahip olduğunu; ancak bu potansiyelin erişilebilirlik sorunları ve artan katılımın eğitim niteliği üzerindeki olumsuz etkileri nedeniyle tam anlamıyla değerlendirilemediğini göstermektedir. Bu doğrultuda, yaz spor okullarının daha etkili ve sürdürülebilir bir yapıya kavuşması için erişilebilirliğin artırılması, eğitim kalitesinin korunması ve paydaşlar arası iş birliğinin güçlendirilmesi gerektiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.Aim: The purpose of this study is to comprehensively examine the current structure of summer sports schools, their operational processes, the athletic and social potential they offer, and the challenges they face, based on the perspectives of coaches and parents, who are the key stakeholders in the process within the framework of a SWOT analysis.
Materials and Methods: The study adopted a qualitative research approach and employed a case study design. The study group consisted of 16 participants selected through purposive sampling: 8 coaches working at summer sports schools operating in Erzincan Province during the summer of 2025, and 8 parents who had enrolled their children in these schools. Coaches and parents were interviewed with a semi-structured form; content analysis was used to analyze the data obtained.
Results: The SWOT analysis identified the main strengths as supporting children’s personal and social development, identifying talent, and promoting participation in competitive sports. The main weaknesses were reduced educational quality due to overcrowding and transportation problems. Key opportunities were talent development and promoting healthier individuals, while the major threats were transportation difficulties, security risks caused by overcrowding, and limited sustainability beyond the summer season.
Conclusion: Summer sports camps in Erzincan Province have significant social and athletic potential, but this potential has not been fully realized because of accessibility issues and the negative effects of increased participation on educational quality.
