Araştırma ilişkisel tarama modelinde yürütülmüş, çalışma grubunu 228 kadın (%51.9) ve 204 erkek (%48.1) olmak üzere toplam 432 genç yetişkin oluşturmuştur. Veriler Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Dijital Bağımlılık Ölçeği, Üstbilişler Ölçeği-30, Kabul ve Eylem Formu-II ve Toronto Aleksitimi Ölçeği aracılığıyla elde edilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde betimleyici istatistikler, korelasyon analizi ve yol analizi kullanılmış; dijital bağımlılığın aleksitimi üzerindeki doğrudan ve dolaylı etkileri, cinsiyet, yaş ve günlük ortalama internet kullanım süresi kontrol edilerek seri aracılık modeli kapsamında değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgular dijital bağımlılık, üstbilişsel inançlar, yaşantısal kaçınma ve aleksitimi arasında pozitif yönde anlamlı ilişkiler olduğunu göstermiştir. Seri aracılık modeli sonuçları dijital bağımlılığın aleksitimi üzerinde doğrudan etkisinin bulunduğu; bununla birlikte, üstbilişsel inançlar ve yaşantısal kaçınma aracılığıyla dolaylı etkilerinin de anlamlı olduğunu ortaya koymuştur. Araştırma dijital bağımlılığın genç yetişkinlerin duygularını tanıma, anlamlandırma ve ifade etme güçlükleriyle ilişkisini açıklamada bilişsel ve yaşantısal süreçlerin dikkate alınmasının önemine işaret etmektedir.</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="en">This study was aimed to examine the predictive effect of digital addiction on alexithymia among young adults and to test the individual and serial mediating roles of metacognitive beliefs and experiential avoidance in this relationship. The study was conducted within the scope of the survey model, and the study group consisted of a total of 432 young adults, including 228 women (51.9%) and 204 men (48.1%). Data were obtained through the Personal Information Form, Digital Addiction Scale, Metacognitions Questionnaire-30, Acceptance and Action Questionnaire-II, and Toronto Alexithymia Scale. Descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and path analysis were used in the analysis of the data; the direct and indirect effects of digital addiction on alexithymia were evaluated within the framework of a serial mediation model by controlling for gender, age, and average daily internet use duration. The findings showed that there were positive and significant relationships among digital addiction, metacognitive beliefs, experiential avoidance, and alexithymia. According to the results of the serial mediation model, digital addiction had a direct effect on alexithymia; additionally, its indirect effects through metacognitive beliefs and experiential avoidance were also found to be significant. The study indicates the importance of considering cognitive and experiential processes in explaining the relationship between digital addiction and young adults’ difficulties in recognizing, understanding, and expressing their emotions.</dc:description><dc:publisher>Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University</dc:publisher><dc:date>2026</dc:date><dc:type>Master Thesis</dc:type><dc:identifier>https://rdlopen.rawdatalibrary.net/r/ebyu/26104</dc:identifier><dc:identifier>https://doi.org/10.71008/ebyu.thesis.2026.214</dc:identifier><dc:language>tr</dc:language><dc:rights>info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess</dc:rights><dc:type>info:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesis</dc:type><dc:identifier>https://ebyu-rdlopen.rawdatalibrary.net/tr/items/ebyu/26104</dc:identifier></oai_dc:dc></metadata></record></GetRecord></OAI-PMH>
