Ordu, kuruluşundan günümüze kadar devletinin angaje olduğu tüm harplerde görev almış ve de milli gücün önemli bir unsuru olarak dış politikada önemli ve caydırıcı roller oynamıştır. Tezin amacı; gerek konvansiyonel anlamda vatan savunmasında, gerekse de teröristle mücadele harekâtında önemli görevler ifa etmekte olan 3. Ordu Komutanlığı tarihçesini ayrıntıları ile ortaya koymaktır. Bu amaçla, kuruluşundan itibaren 3. Ordu Komutanlığının teşkilatındaki değişiklikler, katıldığı harpler, Doğu ve Güneydoğu Anadolu Bölgesinde meydana gelen ayaklanmalara karşı faaliyetleri ile özel bir önem arz eden Doğu Cephesi faaliyetleri incelenmeye çalışılmıştır.It was first established on 6 September 1843 to 1911, for a period of 68 years. Since the establishment of the 3rd Army, which has assumed the responsibility of defense of Eastern Anatolia since 1911, it has taken part in all the warfare of which the state has been engaged and played an important and deterrent role in foreign policy as an important element of the national power. The aim of this thesis is to present the history of 3rd Army Command in detail, which performs important tasks both in the defense of homeland in conventional sense and in the fight against terrorism.
