Anlam ve kullanım açısından birbirini tamamlayan bu söz varlıklarının, çağın gerektirdiği dijital teknolojilerle ve öğrencilerin gelişim düzeylerine uygun yöntemlerle öğretilmesinin; öğrencilerin atasözleri ve deyimlerin anlamını kavrama ve bağlam içinde doğru kullanma becerilerini geliştirmelerine katkısı araştırılmıştır. Araştırma, karma yöntem yaklaşımıyla yapılandırılmış; nicel kısmı yarı deneysel desen çerçevesinde yürütülmüştür. Nicel veriler, 84 ikinci sınıf öğrencisinden elde edilmiş; deney ve kontrol gruplarına uygulanan "Atasözü ve Deyimler Başarı Testi" ön test ve son test sonuçları SPSS 22 programı ile analiz edilmiştir. Anlamlı farklar t-testi ile değerlendirilmiş, etki büyüklüğü Cohen's d analiziyle belirlenmiştir. Nitel veriler ise deney ve kontrol grubu öğretmenleri ile deney grubundaki 42 öğrenciden toplanmış; veriler "Dijital Etkinlik Değerlendirme Formları" aracılığıyla içerik analiziyle incelenmiştir. Ayrıca, 2. sınıf Türkçe ders kitabındaki atasözü ve deyim içeriği doküman analizi yoluyla değerlendirilmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular, Wordwall uygulamasının atasözü ve deyim öğretiminde öğrencilerin başarısını artırdığını, ilgiyi yükselttiğini ve öğretmenlerce etkili bulunduğunu göstermektedir. Ders kitabı ise atasözleri açısından yetersiz, deyimler açısından ise örtük biçimde sunulmuştur.The aim of this study is to examine the effectiveness of the Web 2.0 tool, Wordwall, in teaching proverbs and idioms included in the 2nd-grade Turkish textbook. The research investigates whether teaching these linguistic elements—complementary in meaning and usage—through digital technologies aligned with students' developmental levels contributes to their ability to comprehend meanings and use proverbs and idioms correctly in context. The study was designed using a mixed-methods approach, with the quantitative dimension conducted within a quasi-experimental design. Quantitative data were collected from 84 second-grade students. The "Proverb and Idiom Achievement Test" was administered to both the experimental and control groups as pre- and post-tests, and the results were analyzed using SPSS 22. The significance of differences was assessed through t-tests, and effect sizes were calculated using Cohen's d. Qualitative data were collected through "Digital Activity Evaluation Forms" from both the experimental and control group teachers, as well as 42 students in the experimental group. The data were analyzed using content analysis. In addition, document analysis was employed to evaluate the presentation of proverbs and idioms in the 2nd-grade Turkish textbook. The findings indicate that the use of the Wordwall application improved students' achievement in learning proverbs and idioms, increased their engagement, and was viewed positively by teachers.
