Bu kapsamda, Trump'ın, otoriterleşme yönelimlerini engellemede, kuvvetlerin birbirleri üzerinde baskı kurmasını engelleyen ABD Anayasası, fren ve denge sistemleri, federalizm ve kuvvetler ayrılığı ilkelerinin yanı sıra bağımsız medya, üniversiteler, sivil toplum, bağımsız yargı ve Kongre'nin sahip olduğu araçların etkinliği analiz edilmektedir.</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="en">The US presidential system, virtually the only successful example of a presidential system, has emerged and is being successfully implemented over a period of over two and a half centuries. However, in today's world, where authoritarianism is sweeping and many democracies are gradually evolving into authoritarian regimes, the US is also experiencing attempts at authoritarianism. Trump's implementation of numerous controversial policies, including regulations targeting both illegal and legal immigration, investigations into his political opponents, disregard for judicial decisions, interference in legislative matters, and regulations aimed at controlling universities and the media, has raised concerns about the future of US democracy. President Trump is being criticized for expanding executive power while weakening other branches of power, such as the legislative and judicial branches, thereby weakening the separation of powers, checks and balances, and ultimately, American democracy. The primary objective of this thesis is to demonstrate the capabilities of US democracy to thwart President Trump's efforts to expand executive power within the context of authoritarianism. In this context, the effectiveness of the US Constitution, which prevents power from exerting pressure on one another, along with the principles of checks and balances, federalism, and the separation of powers, as well as the tools available to independent media, universities, civil society, an independent judiciary and Congress is analyzed in preventing Trump's authoritarian tendencies.</dc:description><dc:publisher>Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University</dc:publisher><dc:date>2025</dc:date><dc:type>Master Thesis</dc:type><dc:identifier>https://rdlopen.rawdatalibrary.net/r/ebyu/27584</dc:identifier><dc:language>tr</dc:language><dc:rights>info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess</dc:rights><dc:type>info:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesis</dc:type><dc:identifier>https://ebyu-rdlopen.rawdatalibrary.net/tr/items/ebyu/27584</dc:identifier></oai_dc:dc></metadata></record></GetRecord></OAI-PMH>
