In this article, one of the controversial topics in Turkish grammar, the imperative was handled. There were studies on showing different viewpoints on the structure of the imperative and its inflection, and expressing these differences in various types in both written and oral way in the literature. These studies were searched and were categorized generally under two different viewpoints in the study. Some linguists claimed that the inflection of the imperative comprised of 1., 2. and 3. person singular and plural subjects by referencing historical resources of Turkish. Having aimed to determine the mutation process of Turkish language in the last century with its general outlines, this study was constructed as to determine borrowed words in Kâmûs-i Türkî, written by Şemsettin Sami in the beginnings of 1900, to depend on data. By comparing borrowed words of today's actual Turkish vocabulary and those data obtained from the dictionary, it is aimed to determine the mutation process of the language, the simplification efforts as well as the fact that borrowing from western languages to compensate new concepts increased while the effects of eastern languages decreased.

Bu yazıda Şemseddin Sâmî’nin Kâmûs-i Türkî’si sözlük bilimi acısından in-celenmiştir. Bunun için Sözlük’te bulunan kelimeler anlamları, yapıları, kullanım biçimleri vb. özellikleri bakımından tek tek incelenmiş ve madde başı kelimelerin sayısı tespit edilmiştir. Bu yazıda Sözlük’te madde başı olan ve Türkçeye geçen yabancı asıllı kelimeler üzerinde durulmamıştır. Çalışmaya destek olmak üzere kaynakçada belirtilen eserlerden ve çalışmalardan yararlanılmıştır. Bu yazıyla Kâmûs-i Türkî’nin sözlükçülüğümüz içerisindeki yeri ve önemi üzerinde durul-muştur.

Türkçede terim konusunun incelendiği bu yazıda terimin tanımı, yapısı, tarihî süreç içinde incelenmesi esas alınıp, dilde çok kullanılan terimlerden seçilen 21 Türkçe terimin İngilizce ve Fransızca karşılıklarıyla değerlendirilmesi yapılarak dilimizde bir terim karşılığı için kullanılan farklı kelimelerin ortaya koyduğu terim kargaşasının giderilmesi noktasında nelerin yapılabileceği üzerinde durulmuştur.
