The genus Paratrombium Bruyant (Acari: Trombidiidae) is recorded from Turkey for the first time based on collections of P. insulare (Berlese, 1910) and P. megalochirum (Berlese, 1910). Each species is illustrated, and briefly redescribed with accompanying drawings. Larvae of both species were obtained by experimental rearing. The updated distribution of species is provided.

A newly recorded species for the Turkish fauna, Camerotrombidium rasum Berlese, 1910, is given based on adult females and larvae obtained from an adult female by experimental rearing in the laboratory. The genus Camerotrombidium is recorded for the first time from Turkey.

In this study, diagnoses and original drawings of Dactylothrombium pulcherrimum (Haller, 1882) are given for postlarval forms. Morphometric data for adults and deutonymphs are given. Information about habitat and distribution for the species is also provided. The genus Dactylothrombium is recorded for the first time from Turkey.

This faunistic survey was carried out on the genus Trombidium, collected from northeastern Turkey in 2009–2014. Previously, only one species of Trombidium had been reported from Turkey. Five species of the genus Trombidium were identified and original drawings based on the collected materials were made. These species are new records for the Turkish mite fauna. An identification key to the adult Turkish species of Trombidium is also provided.

Mirabilithrombium turcicum sp. nov. is described based on both active postlarval forms and larvae. Larvae of Mirabilithrombium Gabryś, 1999 were obtained by experimental rearing from a field-collected female and are described for the first time. This is the third species described in the genus; a key to the active postlarval forms is provided. Data on the habitat specificity for the species are provided.

This study was carried out on the genus Glyptholaspis in Kelkit Valley, Turkey, during 2007–2012. Three species, G. americana (Berlese, 1888), G. confusa (Foà, 1900), and G. saprophila Mašán, 2003, were recorded from Kelkit Valley. G. americana has been previously recorded from Turkey; G. confusa and G. saprophila are first records for the Turkish fauna. The male of G. saprophila is described for the first time in this study. Original drawings for all known species of the genus from Kelkit Valley are included. Additionally, an identification key to the Turkish species of Glyptholaspis is given here.

This survey was carried out on the genus Macrocheles in Kelkit Valley, Turkey, during 2007–2012. Seven species, M. muscaedomesticae (Scopoli, 1772); M. glaber (Müller, 1860); M. perglaber Filipponi & Pegazzano, 1962; M. scutatus (Berlese, 1904); M. merdarius (Berlese, 1889); M. subbadius (Berlese, 1904); and M. robustulus (Berlese, 1904), were recorded from the valley. M. perglaber, M. scutatus, and M. subbadius are first records for the Turkish fauna. Original drawings and diagnoses for all known species of the genus from the valley are included. In addition, an identification key to the Turkish species of Macrocheles is provided here.

Reedbeds can be characterized as forming a transition between the aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems. They have distinctive animals adapted to living in aqueous conditions. Because of the lack of data on the mite fauna in marsh habitats of Turkey, this faunistic study was conducted in the Ekşisu Marshes, which resulted in collecting and determining 58 species and 36 genera belonging to 29 families. Of these, Stigmaeus sphagneti (Hull), Neothrombium neglectum (Bruyant), Podothrombium macrocarpum Berlese, Johnstoniana eximia (Berlese), Calyptostomata velutinus (Müller), Heminothrus humicola (Forsslund), Astegistes pilosus (Koch), Achipteria coleoptrata (Linnaeus), and Lauritzenia elegans (Kunst) are new records for the Turkish fauna. The diagnostic features and distributions throughout the world of the species that were determined as newly recorded for Turkey are given. This is also the first report of the families Calyptostomatidae and Neothrombidiidae from Turkey.

A new species of the spider genus Harpactea Bristowe, 1939 is described from pine forests in Antalya Province, in the Mediterranean region of Turkey. The new species resembles H. abantia (Simon, 1884) known from Greece, but differs in a number of characters. Detailed morphological description and illustrations of the new species are provided on the basis of both sexes.
