Investigation of Structural, Morphological, Optical, and Electrical Properties of Al Doped ZnO Thin Films Via Spin Coating Technique

Yilmaz, Mehmet; Tatar, Demet; Sonmez, Erdal; Cirak, Cagri; Aydogan, Sakir; Gunturkun, Rustu

In this study, Al doped ZnO thin films were synthesized by sol gel spin coating technique. To investigate the effect of Al doping on ZnO properties, Al doping concentration was diversified in the range of 0-5 mol%. The effect of Al doping on structural, morphological, optical and electrical properties of ZnO thin films was evaluated by XRD, SEM, UV-VIS and four point probe measurements. All results whether pure or Al doped ZnO thin films were described in detail and they indicated that the films prepared in this study can be used in many nanotechnological applications.

Copper(II) 2-benzoylbenzoate complexes containing 2-pyridilmethanol and 2-pyridilethanol: Synthesis, crystal structures, spectroscopic, and thermal properties

Caglar, Sema; Saykal, Tuba; Buyukgungor, Orhan; Sahin, Ertan

Two new copper(II) complexes, [Cu(bba)2(pymet)2] 1 and [Cu(bba)2(pyet)2] 2, have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, thermal analysis, UV-Vis, and IR spectroscopic techniques. Single-crystal X-ray analysis of 1 and 2 revealed that the geometries are octahedral. 1 crystallizes in themonoclinic crystal system with space group P21/n, while 2 crystallizes in the triclinic crystal system with the space group P-1. 2-benzoylbenzoic acid ligand behaves as a monodentate, while 2-pyridilmethanol and 2-pyridilethanol ligands act as a bidentate in two complexes. Thermal analysis show that two decomposition stages of the investigated complex 1 and 2, stable up to ∼160° C.

A crystallographic, spectroscopic, thermal, and DFT investigation of mixed ligand Cu(II) complexes of 2-benzoylbenzoate

    Sema, Caglar; Serkan, Demir

Two mixed ligand complexes of copper(II)-2-benzoylbenzoate (bba) with pyridazine and 4-picoline, namely bis(2-benzoylbenzoate) di(pyridazine) copper(II) 1 and bis(2-benzoylbenzoate)bis(4- picoline)copper(II) 2, have been synthesized and characterized by X-ray crystallography. Complexes 1 and 2 crystallize in the monoclinic P21/c space groups. The calculated frequency shifts have shown that the participation of carboxylate groups in coordination to themetal centers in monodentate fashion (δ(OCO)>200 cm-1). The structural features of the complexes have been further studied by DFT/X3LYP extended hybrid functional. The thermal behavior of the complexes was studied by means of simultaneous thermogravimetry, differental thermogravimetry, and differential thermal analysis methods in a static air atmosphere.

    Synthesis, characterization, and crystal structures of a novel [Zn 3(bba)6(3-pic)2] complex (bba = 2-benzoylbenzoat, 3-pic = 3-Picoline)

Caglar, Sema; Heren, Zerrin; Yldrm, Muhammet Hakk

A novel trinuclear hekzakis(μ6-2-benzoylbenzoato-O,O')-bis(3- picoline)-tri-zinc(II) complex, [Zn3(bba)6(3-pic) 2] has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR), ultraviolet/visible (UV/Vis), and mass spectroscopy, thermal methods, and single-crystal x-ray diffraction. The three Zn(II) centers are in two different coordination environments. The central Zn(II) is in a distorted octahedral geometry, while the two terminal Zn(II) centers adopt a distorted tetrahedral geometry. The central and the terminal metal centers are connected through tri μ-2-benzoylbenzoato-O,O' bridges. The crystal packing of the trinuclear complex is stabilized by C-H ⋯π interaction between bba ligands. The characteristics of the carboxylate anions with typical (OCO)asymand (OCO)sym values are 1594 and 1368 cm-1, respectively.
