Ali Yildirim, M.
Cu xZn 1 - xS (x = 0, 0.25, 0.50, 0.75, 1) thin films were deposited on glass substrates using Successive Ionic Layer Adsorption and Reaction (SILAR) method at room temperature and ambient pressure. The copper concentration (x) effect on the structural, morphological and optical properties of Cu xZn 1 - xS thin films was investigated. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) studies showed that all the films exhibit polycrystalline nature and are covered well with glass substrates. The crystalline and surface properties of the films improved with increasing copper concentration. The energy bandgap values were changed from 2.07 to 3.67 eV depending on the copper concentration. The refractive index (n), optical static and high frequency dielectric constants (ε o, ε ∈) values were calculated by using the energy bandgap values as a function of the copper concentration.

Korozlu, N.; Colakoglu, K.; Deligoz, E.; Ciftci, Y.O.
The structural, electronic, and optical properties of CdxZn 1 - xSe alloys are investigated using the first-principles plane-wave pseudopotential method within the LDA approximations. In particular, the lattice constant, bulk modulus, electronic band structures, density of state, and optical properties such as dielectric functions, refractive index, extinction coefficient and energy loss function are calculated and discussed. Our results agree well with the available data in the literature.

CdSe thin films were deposited on glass substrates using Successive Ionic Layer Adsorption and Reaction (SILAR) method at room temperature and ambient pressure. The relationship between refractive index and energy bandgap was investigated. The film thickness effect on the structural, morphological, optical and electrical properties of CdSe thin films was investigated. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) studies showed that all the films exhibit polycrystalline nature with hexagonal structure and are covered well with glass substrates. The crystalline and surface properties of the films improved with increasing film thickness. The optical absorption studies revealed that the films are found to be a direct allowed transition. The energy bandgap values were changed from 1.93 to 1.87 eV depending on the film thickness. The electron effective mass (me*/m o), refractive index (n), optical static and high frequency dielectric constant (εo, ε∞) values were calculated by using the energy bandgap values as a function of the film thickness. The resistivity of the films changed between 106 and 102 ω-cm with increasing film thickness at room temperature.

Ali Yildirim, M.; Ateş, Aytunç
ZnO thin films were grown using Successive Ionic Layer Adsorption and Reaction (SILAR) method on glass substrates at room temperature. Annealing temperatures and film thickness effect on the structural, morphological, optical and electrical properties of the films were studied. For this as-deposited films were annealed at 200, 300, 400 and 500 °C for 30 min in oxygen atmosphere. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) studies showed that the films are covered well with glass substrates and have good polycrystalline structure and crystalline levels. The film thickness effect on band gap values was investigated and band gap values were found to be within the range of 3.49-3.19 eV. The annealing temperature and light effect on electrical properties of the films were investigated and it was found that the current increased with increasing light intensity. The resistivity values were found as 105 Ω-cm for as-deposited films from electrical measurements. The resistivity decreased decuple with annealing temperature and decreased centuple with light emission for annealed films.
