Akgül, Mustafa Şakir; Aydos, Latif; Akcan, İbrahim Orkun
The aim of this study was to investigate effects of two different high intensity interval program for 3 weeks on bodycomposition and strength of combat sport athletes. Twenty-nine combat sport athletes (karate, judo, taekwondo, wrestling) (age21.41±1.50 years) voluntarily participated in this study. Participants were randomly assigned to two groups; Tabata protocoland running based high intensity interval protocol. Both methods were applied to participants 3 days per week for 3 weeks.Body composition, leg strength, back strength and hand grip strength of the participants were measured before and after theapplication. Paired Sample T Test was used to determine intragroup changes while Independent Sample t-test as used todetermine intergroup changes. There was no significant difference between groups during the first measurement (p>0.05). Nosignificant change was found in the variables between two measurements. When groups were compared, there was differencein back strength in favour of Tabata group.

This study was conducted to investigate the effect of upper extremity fat ratio on triathletes’ the race time. 43 volunteer athletes who participated in the 9th World University Triathlon Championship ((17 women – 26 men), age 22.30 ± 2.42 years, height 172.76 ± 16.08 cm, body weight 64.79 ± 9.93 kg)) participated in the study. Segmental analysis was performed by Tanita BC 418 Body Composition Analyzer before the race, on an empty stomach and with shorts and T-shirt. At 40 ° C air temperature, athletes firstly swam for 1.5 km, which was followed by cycling on 40 km track and finally 10 kilometers track run. SPSS 16.0 statistical software was utilized for data calculation and evaluation. According to the normality test results; Pearson correlation analysis was used to explain the relationship between the measurements and linear regression analysis was utilized to determine the effect of fat ratio on race time. This study in which the effect of upper extremity fat ratio on race time was examined, revealed that upper extremity segmental analysis has no significant effect on swimming time in triathlon (p >0.05). In addition; upper extremity fat mass has no significant effect on jogging, cycling and total race time either (p>0.05). Fat percentage is determined to have a significant relationship in positive manner with jogging (r = 0.382), cycling (r = 0.370), and total race time (r = 0.387) at p <0.05 level. Upper extremity lean mass and muscle mass are found to have a significant relationship in negative manner respectively with jogging (r = -0.475, r = -0.472), cycling (r = -0.738, r = 0.735) and total race time (r = -0.664, r = -0.661) at p <0.001 level. As a result, it was observed that the upper extremity fat mass is not associated with jogging, cycling, swimming and total race time, on the other hand upper extremity muscle and lean mass are found to be more effective on race time as compared to fat percentage. As the upper extremity, lean mass and muscle mass increases, total race time of athletes shortens and accordingly their performance are likely to be affected in a positive manner

The aim of this paper is to compare and determine anxiety levels and quality of life of women doing regular 8-week stepaerobic exercise and who didn t and to examine the effects of exercises on these parameters. Ninety six voluntary people, 48 in experimental group and 48 in control group, took part in the study. Average age, height, weight of the women comprising experimental and control groups, are 27.23 ± 9.02 years, 164.4627.23 ± 5.31 cm, 70.63±12.35 kg and 32.94 ±9.12 years, 164.56 ±6.36 cm, 65.33 ± 9.55, respectively. The women in the experimental group did moderately (KAH MAX. 40-60 %) step-aerobic and pilates exercises 3 days a week for 75 minutes for 8 weeks. To determine trait and state anxiety levels of each individual who participated in the study, State (STAI FORM TX -I ) and Trait (STAI FORM TX -2 ) Anxiety Inventory developed by Spielberger et al. and whose reliability and validity analysis was conducted by Öner and Le Coumpte was administered. To assess life quality of participants, SF-36 scale was used, which was developed by Ware and whose reliability and validity analysis was completed by Kocyigit et al. Following 8 week exercise program, significant positive changes were observed (p<0.01) in the trait anxiety and life quality level of the experimental group except state anxiety level and bodily pain state, which is one of the physical health condition subscales. In the control group, no significant changes were found in any indicator except in general health status and total physical health scores, indicators of quality of life. Compared to the control group, in the experimental group 8 week exercise program used in this study had a positive effect on trait anxiety levels and life quality of women at this age

Currently, all organizations, official and private, draw attention to organizational interaction so as to increase work efficiency in the administrative studies that they conduct. One of the important dimensions of this interaction is surely the one between the seniors and the juniors. In this study, the aim was to study the situation of the staff in the Directories of Youth and Sport in Eastern Anatolia as a national sport organization according to certain variations in terms of administrative relationship. According to the data obtained, when the junior-senior relationships of the staff in the Directories of Youth and Sport were compared, no statistically significant difference was found in terms of variations of gender, educational level and title position while statistically significant differences were found in marital status, career duration, and age group factors. The results suggest that the single staff is more pleased with the attitude and practices of their seniors than the married staff, and that the staff that has been employed for less than 1 year view the practices of the seniors more positively while the staffs that have been employed for 7-10 years do not adopt these practices so much. The results further suggest that the staff younger than 20 and the staff between 21-25 are more satisfied of the practices of the seniors than the staff between 36-40
