Nurettin Topçu'nun eserlerinde sosyal bilgiler programındaki değerlere yer verilme durumu

Değerler, birlikte yaşamanın ve toplum hayatının temel unsurlarıdır. Değerler eğitimi, bir toplumun sağlıklı bir şekilde varlığını koruması ve sürdürmesi bakımından stratejik bir öneme sahip olup, pek çok ülkede eğitim sisteminin merkezine oturmuştur. İlk çocukluk evresinden itibaren aile ve sosyal çevrede başlayan bu eğitim, sonraki yıllarda örgün eğitim kurumlarında devam eder. Değerler eğitimi okullarda öğrencilere ağırlıklı olarak sosyal bilgiler derslerinde öğretilmektedir. Bunun nedeni, değerler eğitimi ile sosyal bilgiler programlarının amaç ve içerik bakımından birbiriyle büyük ölçüde örtüşmesidir. Bu araştırmada, Cumhuriyet Dönemi'nin en önemli fikir ve hareket adamlarından biri olan Nurettin Topçu'nun görüşleri, sosyal bilgiler programında yer alan değerler açısından incelenmeye çalışılmıştır. Araştırmanın amacı, Türk toplumunu ve Türk eğitim sistemini bilimsel olarak en iyi analiz eden aydınlarımızın başında gelen Topçu'nun eserlerinden hareketle, değerler eğitimine katkı sağlamaktır. Araştırma nitel olup, Topçu'nun konuyla doğrudan ilişkili kitapları doküman analizi yöntemi ile analiz edilmiştir. Bu kitaplar; Kültür ve Medeniyet, Türkiye'nin Maarif Davası ve İsyan Ahlakı'dır. Araştırma bulgularına göre, sosyal bilgiler programında işlenen değerlerin pek çoğu, doğrudan veya dolaylı olarak Topçu'nun kitaplarında yer almaktadır. Söz konusu kitaplarda kök ve alt değerlere çok çeşitli boyutlarda ye verilmekte olup, toplamda 324 adet bulguya rastlanmıştır. Dolayısıyla Topçu'nun eserlerinin değerler eğitimi açısından oldukça zengin bir içeriğe sahip olduğunu söylemek mümkündür. Sonuç olarak, sosyal bilgiler ve değerler eğitimi konularının öğretiminde Topçu'nun görüşlerinden ve eserlerinden daha fazla yararlanılması yararlı olacaktır. Values are the basic elements of living together and social life. Values education has a strategic importance in terms of preserving and sustaining the existence of a society in a healthy way and has been at the center of the education system in many countries. This education, which started in the family and social environment from the first childhood stage, continues in formal education institutions in the following years. Values education is taught to students in schools mainly in social studies courses. The reason for this is that values education and social studies programs overlap to a large extent in terms of purpose and content. In this research, the views of Nurettin Topçu, one of the most important intellectuals and movements of the Republican Period, were tried to be examined in terms of the values in the social studies program. The aim of the research is to contribute to the education of values, based on the works of Topçu, who is one of our intellectuals who best analyze the Turkish society and the Turkish education system scientifically. The research is qualitative and Topçu's books directly related to the subject were analyzed by document analysis method. This books; Culture and Civilization are Turkey's Education Case and Rebellion Ethics. According to the research findings, most of the values covered in the social studies program are directly or indirectly included in Topçu's books. Root and sub-values are given in a wide variety of dimensions in the aforementioned books, and a total of 324 findings were found. Therefore, it is possible to say that Topçu's works have a very rich content in terms of values education. As a result, it will be beneficial to benefit more from Topçu's views and works in the teaching of social studies and values education.
