Mitolojik kaynaklarda Doğu Karadeniz Bölgesi

Türkiye'nin Doğu Karadeniz bölgesini kapsayan bu çalışma günümüz illerinden Giresun, Trabzon, Rize, Artvin, Gümüşhane, Bayburt ve Ordu ilinin bir bölüm dahil edilmiştir. Bölgenin antik çağlardaki sınırı ise batısında Paphlagonia ve Galatia bölgesi, güneyinde Kappadokia, doğusunda Kolkhis bölgesi yer almaktadır. Bölgenin kuzeyinde de Pontus bulunmaktadır. Mitoloji konusu üzerine birçok çalışma ve araştırma yapılmıştır. Doğu Karadeniz bölgesini kapsayan mitolojik çalışmalar yok denecek kadar azdır. "Mitolojik Kaynaklarda Doğu Karadeniz Bölgesi" başlıklı bu tez de, bölgenin hem mitolojik unsurlarına hem de bu mitolojik unsurların geçmişten günümüze gelen yansımalarına ve ayrıca bölgede ki inançlar ve festivaller üzerinden açıklamayı amaçlamıştır. Tez çalışması hazırlanırken ana kaynak mitoloji üzerine yazılmış eserlerdir. Mitoloji kaynakları ile birlikte bölgenin mitolojik unsurları hakkında bilgi veren antik yazarlarda, önemli kaynak olarak görülmüş bu sebeple çalışmada antik kaynaklara da yer verilmiştir.Mitolojik ve antik kaynakların yanı sıra bölge de yapılan yüzey araştırmaları ve kazı çalışmaları sonucunda bulunan heykel ve nümizmatik buluntular gibi bölge mitolojisi hakkında bilgi edinebileceğimiz eserlere de yer verilmiş ve böylelikle kaynaklardan elde edilen verilerin doğruluğu desteklenmeye çalışılmıştır. This study covers the eastern Black Sea region of Turkey and includes today's provinces Giresun, Trabzon, Artvin, Gümüşhane, Bayburt and a part of Ordu province. The borders of the region in ancient times were the Paphlagonia and Galatia regions in the west, Kappadokia in the south, and the Kolchis region in the east. Also, Pontus is located in the north of the region. Many studies and research have been conducted on the subject of mythology. There are hardly mythological studies covering the Eastern Black Sea region. In this thesis titled "Eastern Black Sea region in mythological sources", it is aimed to explain both the mythological elements of the region and the reflections of mythological elements from past to present, as well as through the beliefs and festivals in the region. While preparing the thesis, the main source is the works written on mythology. İn addition to the mythological sources, ancient writers who provided information about the mythological elements of the region were also seen as important sources, therefore ancient sources were also included in the study. Along with the mythological and ancient sources, artifacts from which we can obtain information about the mythology of the region, such as sculptures and numismatic finds found as a result of surface research and excavations in the region, are also included, thus trying to support the accuracy of the data obtained from the sources.
