Tam sayılar konusunun çizgi filmler yardımıyla işlenmesinin öğrenci başarısına etkisinin incelenmesi

Erken çocukluk döneminden itibaren çocukların hayatında yer alan matematik ilköğretim birinci sınıftan yükseköğrenime kadar birçok programın temel derslerinden biridir. Matematik zihinsel becerilerimizi geliştirir, düşünme yeteneğimizi arttırır ve analitik düşünme yeteneğimizi geliştirir. Yalnızca akademik olarak değil günlük hayatta da çeşitli alanlarda beceri geliştirmeye yardımcı olan matematik hem günlük yaşamda hem de eğitim hayatında birey ve toplum açısından büyük önem taşımaktadır. Bu yüzden insan yaşamında bu kadar önemli bir yer kaplayan bir derse yönelik öğrencilerin bakış açılarının olumlu olmasına yönelik çalışmalar yapılarak bireyin hem akademik hem de günlük yaşamına katkı sağlanabilir. Özellikle okul öncesi, ilkokul ve ortaokul döneminde öğrencilerin matematiğe karşı olumlu tutum geliştirmesini sağlamak ileri dönemlerde öğrencilerde matematiğe karşı olumsuz tutum görme olasılığını azaltabilir. Bu yüzden okul öncesi ve ilkokul dönemi öğrencilerinin seyretmeyi çok sevdiği çizgi filmlerle matematiğin hem eğlendirerek hem de sevdirerek öğretilmesi sağlanabilmektedir. Yapılan bu çalışmada 6. sınıftaki tam sayılar konusunun çizgi filmler yardımıyla öğretiminin öğrenci başarısına etkisinin incelenmesi ve öğrencilerin bu konudaki görüşlerinin alınması amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada karma yöntem araştırma desenlerinden çeşitleme deseni kullanılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda çizgi film kullanımının; öğrencilerin akademik başarısını artırdığı, bilgilerin kalıcılığını artırdığı ve öğrencilerin matematik dersine yönelik tutumlarını pozitif yönde değiştirdiği, derse olan ilgilerini ve motivasyonlarını artırdığı, öğrencilerin dersleri çizgi filmle işlemek istedikleri sonuçlarına ulaşılmıştır.

Mathematics, which has been present in children's lives from early childhood, is one of the basic courses in many programs from first grade of primary school to higher education. Mathematics develops our mental skills, increases our thinking ability and improves our analytical thinking ability. Mathematics, which helps to develop skills in various areas not only academically but also in daily life, is of great importance for the individual and society both in daily life and educational life. For this reason, studies can be conducted to ensure that students' perspectives are positive towards a course that occupies such an important place in human life, and this can contribute to both the individual's academic and daily life. Ensuring that students develop a positive attitude towards mathematics especially in preschool, primary school and secondary school periods can reduce the possibility of students having a negative attitude towards mathematics in the later periods. For this reason, mathematics can be taught in a way that is both entertaining and endearing through cartoons that preschool and primary school students love to watch. In this study, it was aimed to examine the effect of teaching the subject of integers in the 6th grade with the help of cartoons on student success and to obtain the students' opinions on this subject. The study used a variation design, which is a mixed method research design. As a result of the study, it was found that the use of cartoons; It has been concluded that it increases the academic success of the students, increases the permanence of the knowledge, changes the attitudes of the students towards the mathematics course in a positive way, increases their interest and motivation in the course, and students want to teach their lessons with cartoons.
