Negotiations between the United Kingdom and the European union on the single market after Brexit: "Hard" or "soft" Brexit?

Book ChapterAçık Erişim

Özet

Following the decision of the United Kingdom to leave the EU in the referendum held on June 23, 2016, the kind of separation agreement to be signed remains uncertain because Britain will be the first state to leave the EU. In this context, the question of whether or not to leave the Single Market emerges and it will be answered by the negotiations between Britain and the EU. This paper focuses on the model by which Britain will continue its relations with the EU after withdrawal, the potential strategies of the parties during the negotiations, their potential consequences in domestic and foreign politics and impacts on the United Kingdom-EU relations. © Peter Lang GmbH Internationaler Verlag der Wissenschaften Berlin 2018.
