White Elephants, Abortion, Mourning and Peace

Abortion is an issue that is discussed in law and social life. Abortion may be seen as a right, a forbidden act or a necessity. Gender patterns can hide the fact that abortion itself is violence and a form of injustice. This injustice can be seen in many different ways. One of them is ignoring the woman and forcing her to abort. One example of this injustice or violence appears in Ernest Hemingway’s story, The Hills like White Elephants. In this study, it will be explained that abortion is a kind of violence. In this case, it will be tried to illustrate a situation that is outside the perception of women who are prevented from having an abortion, that is, the compulsion of a woman who does not want an abortion.
