Erden, Feyza Tantekin; Güvelıoglu, Elıf
The aim of this systematic review is to search for, gather, and synthesize studies on disaster education for children in the early childhood period. Studies that implemented and evaluated the results of a disaster education program for children aged 3 to 6 years old were examined. For the purpose of this study, the focus was on disasters caused by nature induced hazards (earthquake, wildfire, tsunami, flood, volcano eruption, storm, avalanche, tornado, landslide, hurricane, blizzard). A large number of diverse databases such as Emerald, ERIC, JSTOR, ProQuest, SAGE Journals Online, Science Direct, Scopus, SpringerLink, Taylor & Francis Online Journals, Web of Science, Wiley Online Library were searched using a wide range of keywords, resulting in the identification of seven studies from peer-reviewed journals. These studies were examined through thematic analysis. The results highlight the different strategies and materials that researchers utilized for teaching young children about disasters, as well as the various evaluation methods used to assess young children's disaster-related knowledge. Furthermore, it was found that across all examined studies, there was a positive impact of disaster education on children’s disaster related knowledge. It is hoped that this review will shed light on an underrated yet crucial research area, attracting more attention and providing a starting point for rapid improvement

Yalçın, Sema Altun; Meral, Meryem
This research was carried out to determine the effect of entrepreneurship-based STEM education on secondary school students’ self-regulation skills. The sample of the study consisted of 20 students studying in the 8th grade in the 2019-2020 academic year. Mixed method was preferred and single group pre-test-post-test model was used in the study. “Perceived Self-Regulation Skills Scale” was used to obtain quantitative data. The open-ended “Semi-structured interview form” was used to obtain qualitative data. Pre-and post-test means of quantitative data were compared by paired-sample t test and content analysis method was used to compare the pre-and post-test means of qualitative data. Entrepreneurship-based STEM education was provided to the students for 8 weeks. As a result of the research, there was no significant difference between the pre-and post-test scores of the students’ self-regulation skills, however, there was an increase in favor of the post test. In the qualitative data related to self-regulation skills, an increase was also observed in favor of the post-test regarding the the concept of self-efficacy and the sub-dimensions of self-regulation skills, called “openness” and “seeking”.

Karadağ, Bilal Ferhat; Ercan, Merve
The present study aims to determine the development of fluency and accuracy skills, which are among the components of speaking, by language instructors in the process of teaching Turkish as a second language. The study was carried out by using a phenomenological design within the framework of the qualitative research approach. The study group consists of 10 language instructors working at Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University TÖMER, Amasya University TÖMER, Uludağ University TÖMER, Kilis 7 Aralık University TÖMER and İnönü University TÖMER. Semi-structured interview form was used in the data collection process. Interview data were analyzed with content analysis. As a result of the study, in line with the views of instructors, it was concluded that learners of Turkish as a second language could not speak fluently and accurately due to their anxiety and that sufficient time was not allocated for fluent and accurate speaking of students due to priorities such as completing the curriculum and finishing the course book. It can also be seen that instructors preferred activities such as role-playing, drama, songs, rhymes, interviews, and storytelling to develop fluent and accurate speaking of learners and they recommended real-life activities, speaking club, karaoke, and drama activities for the future.

Independent sample t-test and One-way ANOVAtests were used to answer the research questions. Tukey test was employed as aposthoc analysis to figure out the differences among the categories. Consequently, anonsignificant result was observed for the subfactors of LTOS depending on thevariables including gender, class level, and the sports branch being interested. However, a significant difference was found at the friend and time subfactors of theLTOS in terms of department category (p<.05). Furthermore, a significant differencewas also observed at friend subfactor of LTOS for achievement level. Finally, asignificant difference was also detected from the analysis results for the informationsubfactor of LTOS in terms of sports branch being interested.
