Tip 2 diabetes mellitus hastalarında yeme tutumu ve yaşam doyumunun belirlenmesi

Giriş ve Amaç: Tip 2 Diabetes Mellitus ciddi, kronik metabolik bir hastalıktır. Fiziksel hastalıklara eşlik eden ruhsal veya davranışsal sorunlar hastanın uyumunu, iyilik halini, mortalite ve morbiditeyi olumsuz olarak etkilediğinden, bu sorunların değerlendirilmesi oldukça önemlidir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Tip 2 Diabetes Mellitus hastalarında yeme tutumu ve yaşam doyumunun belirlenmesidir. Materyal ve Metot: Tanımlayıcı özellikte olan bu araştırmanın evrenini Aralık 2018-Mayıs 2019 tarihleri arasında Sağlık Bakanlığı-Sakarya Üniversitesi Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi Dahiliye ve Yara Bakım Servislerinde Tip 2 Diabetes Mellitus tanısı ile yatmakta olan 188 hasta oluşturdu. Araştırmanın örneklemini ise belirtilen tarih aralığında ilgili servislerde yatan ve araştırmaya alma ve dışlama ölçütlerini karşılayan 130 hasta oluşturdu. Araştırmanın verileri Hastaları Tanımlayıcı Soru Formu, YTT-40 ve YDÖ kullanılarak yüz yüze görüşme yöntemi ile toplandı. Bulgular: Hastaların yaş ortalaması 66.21±11.62 yıl, YTT-40 puan ortalaması 30.14±6.29, YDÖ puan ortalaması 24.76±5.74 olarak belirlendi. Hastalarda olası yeme bozukluğu yaygınlığı %46.9 olarak bulundu. Gelir ve sağlık durumu algısına göre YDÖ puan ortalaması; yaşanılan yere göre YDÖ puan ortalaması ve olası yeme bozukluğu arasında anlamlı bir fark olduğu saptandı. Sonuç: Bu araştırmada T2DM hastalarının yaklaşık yarısında olası yeme bozukluğu ve yaşam doyumu algılarının orta düzeyin üzerinde olduğu belirlendi. Hemşirelerin hastaların fiziksel ve ruhsal sağlık sonuçlarını iyileştirmede hasta katılımını sağlayarak, bütünleşmiş yaklaşımla birey merkezli psikososyal bakım sağlamaları önemlidir. Introduction and Aim: Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus is a serious, chronic metabolic disease. Since the mental or behavioral problems accompanying physical diseases negatively affect the patient's compliance, well-being, mortality and morbidity, it is very important to evaluate these problems. The aim of this study is to determine the eating attitude and life satisfaction in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients. Materials and Methods: The universe of this descriptive study consisted of 188 patients hospitalized with the diagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus at the Internal Medicine and Wound Care Services of the Ministry of Health-Sakarya University Training and Research Hospital between December 2018 and May 2019. The sample of the study consisted of 130 patients who were hospitalized in the relevant services within the specified date range and met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The data of the study were collected by face-to-face interview method by using the Patient Descriptive Questionnaire, EAT-40 and LSS. Results: The mean age of the patients was 66.21 ± 11.62, the mean EAT-40 score was 30.14 ± 6.29, and the mean LSS score was 24.76 ± 5.74. The probable eating disorder prevalence of the patients was determined as 46.9%. According to the perception of income and health status, the mean score of LSS; It was determined that there was a significant difference between the mean LSS score and possible eating disorder according to the place of residence. Consclusion: In this study, approximately half of the Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients had probable eating disorders and their perceptions of life satisfaction were above moderate. It is important that nurses provide individual-centered psychosocial care with an integrated approach by ensuring patient participation in improving the physical and mental health outcomes of patients.
