İlkokul 4.sınıf öğrencilerinin sosyal medya kullanma alışkanlıklarının incelenmesi

Bu araştırma, ilkokul öğrencilerinin sosyal medya kullanma alışkanlıklarının incelenmesi amacıyla 2021-2022 eğitim öğretim döneminde yapılmıştır. Çalışma grubunu, Kars ilinin Arpaçay ilçesindeki ilkokullarda eğitim gören 4. sınıflar oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma için random(rastgele) seçilmiş 4.sınıf öğrencileri ve örneklem yöntemlerinden kolay ulaşılabilir örneklem kullanılarak belirlenen 30 öğrenci ile görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden olan "durum çalışması" kullanılmış ve araştırma deseni olarak iç içe geçmiş tek durum deseninden faydalanılmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen "İlkokul Öğrencilerinin Sosyal Medya Kullanma Alışkanlıklarının Belirlenmesi" yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde Nvivo11 nitel veri analizi programı kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada ilkokul 4.sınıf öğrencilerinin sosyal medya kullanma alışkanlıkları; sosyal medyayı kullanma sıklıkları, kullanma amaçları ve karşılaşılan engeller belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda; öğrencilerin izledikleri sosyal medya içerikleri çeşitlerine göre değişiklik gösteriyor olsa da sosyal medya kullanma sebeplerinin genel olarak birbirine benzediği ve genellikle eğitici olması, can sıkıntılarını gidermesi, boş vakitlerini doldurması, eğlendirmesi gibi sebeplerden kullandıkları görülmüştür. Araştırmada elde edilen bulgular sonucunda öğrencilerin yoğun olarak komik ya da eğlenceli videolar izledikleri ve izleme nedeni olarak ise en çok aile etkisi ile boş zamanlarını gösterdikleri sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

This research was conducted in the 2021-2022 academic year in order to examine the social media usage habits of primary school students. The study group consists of 4th graders studying in primary schools in Arpaçay district of Kars province. For the research, interviews were conducted with randomly selected 4th grade students and 30 students determined by using easily accessible sample from sampling methods. In the research, ''case study'', which is one of the qualitative research methods, was used and the nested single case desing was used as the research desing. As a data collection tool, a semistructured interview form ''Determiniation of Social Media Usage Habits of Primary School Students'' developed by the researcher was used. Nvivo11 qualitative data analysis program was used in the analysis of the data. Social media usage habits of primary school 4th grade students; The frequency of using social media, the purposes of using it, the saturation of use and the obstacles encountered were tried to be determined. As a result of the research; Although the social media content that students watch varies according to the types, it has been observed that the reasons for using social media are generally similar and they are generally used for reasons such as being educational, relieving boredom, filling free time, entertaining. As a result of the findings obtained in the research, it was concluded that the students watched funny or entertaining videos intensively and that they mostly showed the family effect and their spare time as the reason for watching.
