ArticleAçık Erişim

Özet

Objective: The aim of the study is to determine the quantitative and qualitative adequacy of the care received by women who gave birth in a tertiary health institution in Erzincan during their pregnancy. Methods: The descriptive study was carried out between 2019 and 2020. The sample size was calculated as 144. Quantitative and qualitative adequacy of follow-ups were evaluated based on the Ministry of Health Prenatal Care Management Guide. The data was summarized through tables and graphs. Findings: Data were collected from 156 mothers in the study. The mean number of antenatal follow-ups was 12.1±3.4, and 98.1% of women were followed at least four times. During the follow-up, 98.1% of women had no chest and heart auscultation, 63.4% of them had no oedema control, 9.0% of them had no weight measurement and 3.2% of them had no blood pressure measurement, 14.7% of them were not fully vaccinated against tetanus. Conclusion: Although women have many applications to health institutions in the prenatal period, there are deficiencies in procedures that should be done during follow-up.
