Özet

Objective: It was aimed to investigate some protozoon agents\rin streams collected in Iğdır city center with different meth-\rods.\rMaterial and Methods: This study was carried out on 40 water\rsamples collected from different streams in Iğdır province center\rin April and June 2020. Water samples were taken approximately\r50 cm from the shore. These samples were first filtered through\ra vacuum pump filtration device equipped with a 0.22 μm cellu-\rlose acetate membrane filter. The filtered samples were examined\rusing the direct residue spreading method and the Modified Acid\rFast stain method.\rResults: One or more parasites were seen in 30% of 40 water\rsamples examined. 50% of these parasites were Cyclospora cay-\retanensis, 16.7% Giardia intestinalis, 33.3% Cryptosporidium spp.\rConclusion: It was concluded that rivers infected with protozoan\roocysts still pose a serious problem in terms of public health.
