Crime and offenders in the country of the Ottoman the example of 1919 January Erzincan county

In this study, the case of crime and guilties in Ottoman outback are stud- ied by grounding on the sample of Erzincan district. Various criminal statis- tics which belong to Erzurum province are presented in introduction. Espe- cially, the distributions of crimes of murders by accidents are given. Some examples are given from the types of crime in charge sheet and it is proved how the same type of crime in condensed statement has a different content and story. By grounding on the crime statistic record of Erzincan district, the guilties are classified and evaluated according to their age, education, level of income, job, and residence status. Additionally, various archival records are applied to support the data in this statistical chart. Even if they are the cities of the same district, each city has its own crime types and rates be- cause of its social, economic and geopolitical position. With this point of view, the concept of crime is different according to various regions and time periods throughout the empire.
