Özet

The purpose of this study is to propose a practice for promoting sportsmanship behaviors in physical education lessons. A literature review method has been used for the study. Sample activities and practices with regard to sportsmanship that are prominent in domestic and particularly foreign studies and that are suitable for secondary school physical education programs have been constructed following a program and offered to researchers and educators. This practice proposal is called as “Constructing Sportsmanship in Juniors’ Games (CSJG)”. Inclass lessons and activities were planned for the first three weeks of the practice (especially given the theoretical knowledge), court or gymnasium practical activities for the following four weeks, and practical feedback activities for the eighth week. This practice proposal should be provided to teacher candidates during undergraduate education and to working teachers within the scope of on-the-job training activities. Students are expected to develop sportsmanship behaviors after this practice is implemented by physical education teachers with the support of Ministry of National Education. Educators and researchers are recommended to test the feasibility, efficiency and permanence of the “CSJG” practice proposal that is prepared with the purpose of developing physical education courses sportsmanship behaviors
