The Attıtudes of the Class Teachers on the Course of Visuals Understanding

The aim of this study is to conduct a research on the attitudes of the primary school teachers towards the Visual Arts Course and their perception of field competence. The universe of the research consists of classroom teachers. The sample consists of 116 (54.71%) female and 96 male (45.28%) 212 classroom teachers working in Erzincan and 74 graduate (%%) graduates from Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University Faculty of Education. 69,15), 33 are male (30,85%) prospective teachers. Teachers were determined by criterion sampling method, which is one of the purposeful sampling methods. “Relational Screening Method”, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the research. Two different research scales were used, namely “Attitude Scale” and “Field Sufficiency Perception Scale” developed by the researcher in order to collect the necessary data. With the applied attitude and field competence perception scales, it was observed that there was no difference in gender, attitude, field competence perception and total difference in graduate and working class teachers. The average of proficiency perception scale is 188 (68%) out of 275. For working class teachers, the average of the attitude scale is .102 (68%) over 150, and the average of the competence perception scale is 185 (67%) over 275. As a result, all the data show that there is no significant difference between graduate and working class teachers in terms of attitude and field competence perception. It can be said that the percentage of women is slightly higher than that of men, because the interest in artistic activities in women is slightly higher.
