Yücel, Ilhami; Özlok, Kasim Kagan; Kaya, Yasin; Çelik, Omer

This study examines the mediating role of role ambiguity and the moderating effect of gender on the relationship between work overload and turnover intention. Using a quantitative approach, the study investigated the relationships among work overload, role ambiguity and turnover intention. Data collected from 408 participants working in chain supermarkets in T & uuml;rkiye were analyzed using SPSS 27 (IBM Corp., Armonk, NY, USA), AMOS 24 (IBM Corp., Armonk, NY, USA) and the PROCESS macro. While work overload was positively related to turnover intention, role ambiguity mediated this relationship. Gender also played a moderating role in these relationships. This study is among the few to examine the role of gender in the relationship between work overload and turnover intention. In addition, it proposes a new analytical framework that incorporates a gender perspective into the model through an examination of the role of role ambiguity in this relationship.

Effect of Presenteeism on Job Performance Levels in Turkey: Role of Organisational Attraction

    Kılıçkaya, Fatma Yılmaz

This study investigates how presenteeism (PRES) influences job performance (JP), with a specific focus on how organisational attractiveness (OA) moderates this relationship. Con-ducted with 500 employees from a Turkish call centre in the communication sector, situated in Erzincan province, findings reveal that PRES adversely impacts JP. However, OA acts as a significant buffer, diminishing PRES's negative effects. Notably, when employees’ OA perceptions are high, PRES has less of a negative impact on their JP. This research enhances understanding of the interplay between PRES, JP, and OA, providing practical insights for organisational management.

How Interpersonal Trust Influences Knowledge Hiding: Examining a Moderated Mediation Model

    Koçak, Daimi

In this study, drawing on the conservation of resources theory, a moderated mediation model that examines prosocial motivation as a mediator and psychological entitlement as a moderator in the relationship between interpersonal trust (affect-based and cognition-based trust) and knowledge hiding was tested. Data were collected from 307 white-collar employees working full-time for two private companies operating in the manufacturing sector in Turkey. The results showed that prosocial motivation mediated the effects of affect-based and cognition-based trust on evasive hiding and playing dumb but not on rationalized hiding. The results also revealed that psychological entitlement influenced the strength of the indirect effects of affect-based and cognition-based trust on evasive hiding and playing dumb but not on rationalized hiding through prosocial motivation. The theoretical and practical implications of the results are also discussed.
