2008- global fnancial crisis in Turkey: The effects of the crisis in Erzincan and expectations

As in the entire in world, the global crisis of 2008 has been effective in the Erzincan province. Based on the last six months of 2009 year and first six months of the 2010 year, the effects of the crisis have been analyzed in Erzincan province. In this study, the survey method was chosen to collect data about 52 Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). The effects of the crisis were not very hard on the city where the production rate is not so high. In recent years, production facilities are encouraged based on local raw materials. Positive effects as negative effects of the crisis are also available. As with all crises, this crisis has been the interim. World economies into the process of recovery, the ongoing effects of the crisis have been planned for after crisis period. Erzincan province is in an effort to catch up with other developed cities in Turkey. For this purpose, investments and incentives are mentioned. The most effective way to combat unemployment is to increase production and to support SMEs. Existing SMEs’ problems and expectations are determined and what needs to be done is focused.
