Özet
In addition to ability of artistic expression, rhythmic temperance in text also comes out as an important element in terms of the aesthetic value in literary texts. Especially because of the fact that the rhythm of movement in text awakens an aesthetic emotion, it has a wide area of use in poetry and in prose. Even though it is much easier to determine rhythmic elements in poetry rather than in prose, the formation and analysis of rhythmic construct in both poetry and prose will contribute to comprehension of the text. On the basis of the fact that every composition which is an output of the human imagination produces a rhythmic coherence, it can’t be thought that literary texts are indifferent to the rhythmic construct. Rhythm which provides the post-reading delight and ensures the internal order is created in each work of art differently with specific techniques. If we think that the fiction is item from reality, we can come through with an idea that any literary text isn’t generated with coincidence. Because of this, it is quite hard to say that a work of art whose rhythmic elements aren’t created with specific techniques is successful. In that case, it is possible to talk about the functionality of rhythm in text which is created with specific techniques in literary texts as an aesthetic element. On the purpose of the repetitions recurring at certain intervals in elements such as sonance, utterance, space, object, case, motif etc. in literary works to arouse an aesthetic feeling, they should be also rhythmic. Thus, the text will be free of monotony and ordinariness. Repeating every element or fact which gets changed will intensify the flow of rhythm in literary text. For the rhythm to be strong, it should continue increasingly or decreasingly depending on density of case and feeling. Rhythm, which deepens the meaning, is also related to the response given to the question of “how is it constructed” that brings an aesthetic value to text. In that case, rhythm is a response to the question of “how is it narrated”. While it searches answers for this question, it also undertakes the duty of involving the readers in fiction and providing them with aesthetic pleasure. While the rhythm is constituent element in nearly all works of art, it is a common point of view that the rhythm in literary works is restricted to poetry. Because of this fact, the rhythmic elements in novels and stories aren’t analyzed as a whole in most academic studies. The increase in the studies which will occur in this field will contribute to the researches especially in Modern Turkish Literature. Rhythm, which is a constituent element in fine arts, contributes to artist in creation period. It can be seen that Sabahattin Ali, who produces works with a strong aesthetic aspect and who is one of the successful writers of Turkish Literature, gives place to rhythm in his stories. The rhythmic construct in these stories is generally parallel to the changes in persons’ moods. Based on the idea that the rhythm of life is related to space, it will be difficult for a writer who doesn’t comprehend the rhythm of space to comprehend the rhythm of life. It is necessary for these writers and poets to reflect this comprehension process and its reflections accomplishedly. Rhythm will also positively contribute to that fictional process. In this study it is possible to mention that the themes such as village, peasant and town life appear in “Ses”, one of the stories of Sabahattin Ali, who mostly gives place to village and town life as space in his works. It should be said that a rational technique hasn’t been developed about the detection of rhythmic elements in prose. In this context, we will analyze the rhythmic elements in “Ses”, written by Sabahattin Ali, under the topics of rhythm of life and rhythm of utterance starting from the main element of story which is the rhythm of case
