Bilgin, Yasin; Sari, Fatih Mehmet; Gunay, Murat; Hayme, Serhat; Kantar, Yusuf; Durmus, Ugur

Background: Early and accurate identification of intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) following traumatic brain injury (TBI) is crucial, yet conventional imaging techniques like CT have limitations including radiation exposure and overutilization. This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic utility of two blood-based biomarkers, Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein (GFAP) and Ubiquitin Carboxy-Terminal Hydrolase L1 (UCH-L1), in detecting ICH in emergency department patients with blunt head trauma. Methods: This single-center prospective observational study included 442 patients presenting with blunt head trauma at a university emergency department. Plasma GFAP and UCH-L1 levels were measured prior to cranial CT imaging. ROC curve analysis, sensitivity, specificity, and logistic regression were used to assess diagnostic performance and associations between biomarker levels and CT-confirmed ICH. Results: ICH was detected in 6.1% of patients. GFAP and UCH-L1 both demonstrated high diagnostic performance with AUC values of 0.98 and 0.95, respectively. Sensitivity and specificity were 92.6% and 98.8% for GFAP, and 92.6% and 99.0% for UCH-L1. When both biomarkers were concurrently elevated, sensitivity remained at 92.6% with a negative predictive value of 99.5%. Univariate logistic regression revealed strong associations with ICH: GFAP (OR = 1025.0, 95% CI: 189.4–5548.3) and UCH-L1 (OR = 1284.4, 95% CI: 224.4–7352.3), both p < 0.001. Conclusion: GFAP and UCH-L1 are highly sensitive and specific biomarkers for early ICH detection in blunt head trauma. Their combined use may enhance triage accuracy, reduce unnecessary imaging, and support rapid clinical decision-making in emergency settings. Larger multicenter studies are warranted to validate these findings and standardize cut-off values.

Akman, Tugrul Cagri; Simsek, Samed; Erken, İrem Nisa; Yildiztekin, Kübra Gizem; Tasci, Hayrunnisa; Türkoğlu, Halil İbrahim; Dilek, Esra

This study presents the first comprehensive analysis of the phytochemical profile and biological activities of root and stalk extracts from endemic Onosma discedens Hausskn. ex Bornm. (OD). The extracts of OD were analyzed by liquid chromatography–electrospray ionization–tandem mass spectrometry (LC–ESI–MS/MS), and 16 phenolics, including vanillic acid (2077.1332 µg/g extract in root) and hesperidin (1185.3621 µg/g extract in stalk), were detected. In antioxidant activity tests, DPPH• radical scavenging activity of root extract (IC50: 60.69 µg/mL) was found to be higher than stalk extract (IC50: 95.66 µg/mL), but both extracts showed lower activity than standard antioxidants. In antiproliferative activity assays, the OD extract exhibited low cytotoxicity against MCF7 cell lines, with an IC50 value exceeding 500 µg/mL. The stem extract was more effective on the butyrylcholinesterase (BChE) enzyme (IC50: 546.09 ± 0.533 µg/mL) than on the acetylcholinesterase (AChE) enzyme (IC50: 721.156 ± 0.410 µg/mL). When the plant is evaluated as a whole, it has a dual inhibitory effect on both cholinesterase enzymes. Molecular docking analyses confirmed the interactions of vanillic acid and hesperidin with target enzymes. As a result, it was revealed that OD, which has a rich structure in phenolic compounds and significant bioactivity due to its cholinesterase inhibitory effect, can be utilized to treat neurodegenerative illnesses like Alzheimer's.

Alagöz, Gürkan; Pekerşen, Yeliz; Baybal, Seda

This research, which is addressed within the framework of social support, field theory, social exchange theory and JD-R model, was conducted on 4 and 5-star hotel chefs in Ankara to examine the relationships between colleague support, work overload, presenteeism and work engagement. The data were collected and analyzed from 387 chefs through a survey technique. As a result of the study, work overload was found to be negatively correlated with work engagement and colleague support, while it was positively correlated with presenteeism. Moreover, work engagement was found to be positively correlated with colleague support and negatively correlated with presenteeism. In the study, it was stated that the work overload has a decreasing role in work engagement, and it was also proved that work engagement is a variable that reduces presenteeism. It was also concluded that work engagement has a mediating role in the effect of work overload on presenteeism. Further, it was revealed that colleague support moderates the relationship between work overload and work engagement. Finally, colleague support was found to have a moderating role in the indirect effect of work overload (through work engagement) on presenteeism.

Zoatier, Bayan; Yildiztekin, Gizem; Alagoz, Mehmet Abdullah; Hepokur, Ceylan; Dilek, Esra; Algul, Oztekin

Alzheimer's disease (AD), the most prevalent form of dementia, leads to progressive cognitive decline due to pathological hallmarks including amyloid plaques, neurofibrillary tangles, synaptic loss, neuroinflammation, and neuronal cell death, highlighting the urgent need for multitarget therapeutic strategies. The p38α mitogen-activated protein kinase (p38α MAPK) pathway is a key regulator of neuroinflammation and has been implicated in AD pathogenesis. Additionally, dysregulation of p38α MAPK is associated with tumorigenesis, making it a promising target for both neurodegenerative and proliferative diseases. In this article, a series of benzoxazole derivatives is designed and synthesized to evaluate their dual inhibitory potential against p38α MAPK and acetylcholinesterase (AChE), aiming for a multifaceted therapeutic approach to AD. A total of 31 compounds are synthesized and assessed for their antiproliferative activity, p38α MAPK inhibition, and AChE inhibitory effects. In vitro assays demonstrate that several compounds exhibit potent dual inhibition of p38α MAPK and AChE, while molecular docking studies provide insights into their binding interactions within the active sites. These findings suggest that benzoxazole-based scaffolds offer a promising framework for the development of dual-acting inhibitors targeting both neuroinflammation and tumorigenesis. Further in vivo and mechanistic studies are warranted to explore their therapeutic potential.

Revealing the protective potential of D-(-)-Quinic acid against thioacetamide-induced hepatic encephalopathy in rats

Ciftel, Sedat; Cicek, Betul; Bolat, Ismail; Bulut, Seval; Yildirim, Serkan; Suleyman, Bahadir; Qaniyev, Musa; Süleyman, Halis

The objective of this study was to elucidate the impact of D-(-)-Quinic acid (D-(-)-QA), a natural phenolic acid, on the molecular mechanisms of inflammation and oxidative stress in brain and liver damage in thioacetamide (TAA)-induced hepatic encephalopathy (HE) in rats. To establish an experimental HE model, rats were injected with three doses (200 mg/kg, intraperitoneally) of TAA every other day, followed by the administration of D-(-)- QA (200 or 400 mg/kg, orally) for fourteen days. Serum ammonia, alanine transaminase (ALT), and aspartate transaminase (AST) levels were detected. Tumor necrosis factor (TNF-α), interleukin-1beta IL-1β, and malondialdehyde (MDA), superoxide dismutase (SOD), and glutathione (GSH) levels were analyzed to assess inflammation and oxidative damage in brain and liver tissues. Histopathological examinations, immunofluorescence (PI3K and AKT expressions), and immunohistochemical (HSP70 expression) examinations were also performed. TAA administration causedhyperammonemia and increased ALT and AST levels, along with histopathological changes indicating damage to hepatocytes and neurons. Additionally, it disrupted the inflammatory response and promoted oxidative damage by activating the PI3K/AKT-related HSP70 response in the brain and liver. Treatment with D-(-)-QA significantly prevented the increase in ammonia levels and improved the liver function. In addition, the increase in TNF-α, and IL-1β, proinflammatory cytokines in liver and brain tissues as well as the increase in MDA and decrease in SOD and GSH were significantly suppressed by D-(-)-QA. By suppressing HSP70 and PI3K/AKT signaling in brain and liver tissues, D-(-)-QA administration attenuated inflammation and oxidative damage. D-(-)-QA may be an alternative to current clinical interventions by inhibiting inflammation and oxidative damage signaling toward the pathogenesis of HE.

    Gürsoy, Ersan; Vatansever, Mehmet

Background: Electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) have become increasingly popular among both adults and young people seeking to quit smoking and have sparked significant debates regarding their health effects. The current study aims to analyze how physicians’ opinions in Türkiye address public health risks by examining the most-watched electronic cigarette videos on YouTube. Methods: The 16 most-watched YouTube videos in Türkiye featuring physicians discussing e-cigarettes were analyzed using thematic content analysis. The videos were chosen from searches conducted between April 2024 and December 2024 with the keywords “electronic cigarette,” “electronic cigarette use,” “harm of e-cigarettes,” “are e-cigarettes harmful,” “e-cigarette benefits,” “e-cigarette doctor” and “e-cigarette Physician.” Videos over 1 min with physicians as primary speakers and at least 1,000 views were included. The verbal content of physicians’ opinions in the videos was transcribed verbatim, and the analyzed videos were categorized into four main themes and eight sub-themes. Results: The analysis of the videos revealed that physicians emphasized the physical and psychological health risks of e-cigarettes, particularly their detrimental effects on the respiratory and cardiovascular systems. Nicotine addiction was highlighted as a persistent issue, with e-cigarettes perpetuating dependence rather than serving as a smoking cessation tool. Additionally, marketing strategies targeting younger demographics, such as flavored products and appealing advertisements, were identified as a significant factor in shaping misconceptions about the relative safety of e-cigarettes. While some physicians acknowledged a reduction in certain harmful substances compared to traditional cigarettes, the majority emphasized the long-term health effects of e-cigarettes and warned against assuming these products are less harmful. Conclusion: The findings reveal that physicians on YouTube predominantly adopt a cautious approach toward e-cigarettes, emphasizing their health risks and potential to perpetuate nicotine addiction. Marketing strategies targeting younger audiences were identified as a significant factor influencing public perceptions. These insights highlight the importance of health professionals engaging on digital platforms to address misconceptions and promote accurate, evidence-based information about e-cigarettes.

Comparative Investigation of the Effects of Adenosine Triphosphate, Melatonin, and Thiamine Pyrophosphate on Amiodarone-Induced Neuropathy and Neuropathic Pain in Male Rats

Kahramanlar, Agah Abdullah; Ozgodek, Habip Burak; Ince, Ramazan; Yavuzer, Bulent; Admis, Ozlem; Mendil, Ali Sefa; Ekinci, Bilge; Suleyman, Halis

Background: Amiodarone is a widely used class III antiarrhythmic agent, but its use can lead to peripheral neuropathy mediated by mitochondrial dysfunction, oxidative stress, and neuroinflammatory injury, while effective preventive options remain limited. Agents that support mitochondrial energy metabolism, sustain redox balance, and modulate inflammation, including adenosine triphosphate (ATP), melatonin, and thiamine pyrophosphate (TPP), may counteract these mechanisms; however, their relative neuroprotective potential in amiodarone-induced neuropathy remains unclear. This study aimed to comparatively evaluate the effects of ATP, melatonin, and TPP on amiodarone-induced peripheral neuropathy and neuropathic pain in rats. Methods: Thirty male albino Wistar rats were assigned to five groups: healthy; amiodarone (50 mg/kg/orally); amiodarone + ATP (5 mg/kg/intraperitoneally); amiodarone + melatonin (10 mg/kg/orally); or amiodarone + TPP (20 mg/kg/intraperitoneally). Treatments were given once daily for 14 days. Oxidative stress indices (malondialdehyde (MDA), total glutathione (tGSH), superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT)) and proinflammatory cytokines (tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), interleukin-1 Beta (IL-1β), interleukin-6 (IL-6)) were quantified in sciatic nerve by Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). Paw withdrawal thresholds were measured with the Randall-Selitto test before and after treatment. Histopathology was performed using Hematoxylin-eosin staining. Results: Amiodarone exposure resulted in pronounced elevations in MDA and proinflammatory cytokine levels, accompanied by significant reductions in tGSH, SOD, CAT activities, and paw withdrawal thresholds. ATP, melatonin and TPP ameliorated these alterations to varying degrees. Among them, TPP provided the most robust antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, followed by ATP and melatonin. Histopathological examination confirmed most severe axonal degeneration, interstitial edema and Schwann cell proliferation in the amiodarone group, with substantial amelioration in the TPP-treated rats. Conclusions: Amiodarone induces neuropathic pain through oxidative and inflammatory injury to peripheral nerves. TPP exhibited superior neuroprotective efficacy compared with ATP and melatonin, highlighting its potential as a candidate therapeutic agent for amiodarone-related neuropathy. Further clinical research is warranted to support translational application of these findings.

Abdo, Hazem Ghassan; Richi, Sahar Mohammed; Prasad, Pankaj; Katipoğlu, Okan Mert; Halder, Bijay; Niknam, Arman; Hang, Hoang Thi; Alharbi, Maged Muteb; Mallick, Javed

Assessing landslide susceptibility is essential in urban planning and risk management. In the context of the Eastern Mediterranean region, there is a continuing need to compare the performance of machine learning (ML) algorithms in predicting landslide susceptibility, which can improve landslide risk management measures. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate and compare the predictive capabilities of three ML models: Multilayer perceptron (MLP), Light Gradient Boosting Machine (LGBM), and Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) models, in evaluating the susceptibility of various types of landslides and to refine the combination of causal factors. An evaluation of 19 conditioning factors, including topographical, geological, and environmental variables, was conducted to assess their effects on landslide susceptibility in different models in a geographic information system (GIS) environment. The results show that "Elevation" and "Slope" were consistently identified as the most influential factors in all models, with MLP demonstrating the greatest sensitivity to "Elevation." The study area was divided into five susceptibility categories: very low, low, moderate, high, and very high. According to the LGBM model, 24.27% of the area was classified as "very low" susceptibility, while the XGBoost and MLP models identified 25.69% and 27.28%, respectively. On the other hand, the "very high" susceptibility category covered 19.57%, 20.31%, and 19.78% of the area for the LGBM, XGBoost, and MLP models, respectively. The AUC-ROC approach has been utilized to evaluate, validate, and compare the performance of different ML models. Our study found AUC values for three MLTs. These findings suggest that all models demonstrate reasonable accuracy in identifying susceptible zones, and XGBoost demonstrated the best performance among the MLTs, with an AUC of 92.6% compared to the others. The insights gained from this study can inform targeted mitigation strategies to reduce landslide risks in Lebanon.

Protective Effect of Exogenous Adenosine Triphosphate Against Ocular Toxicity of Linezolid in Rats

Esenulku, Cenap Mahmut; Cicek, Ibrahim; Somuncu, Ahmet Mehmet; Yavuzer, Bulent; Sezgin, Esra Tuba; Tastan, Tugba Bal; Yücel, Nurinisa; Karatas, Ezgi; Suleyman, Halis

Linezolid, a synthetic antimicrobial agent, may induce oxidative damage in ocular tissues, particularly in the optic nerve. Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) is involved in the production of antioxidants that scavenge and neutralize reactive oxygen species. This study aims to evaluate the potential protective effect of exogenous ATP against linezolid-induced ocular damage in rats, in comparison with methylprednisolone. Wistar-type rats were divided into five groups as follows: healthy (HG), ATP-only (ATPG), linezolid-only (LZDG), ATP + linezolid (ATLDG), and methylprednisolone + linezolid groups (MPLDG). Oxidative stress markers, antioxidant biomarkers, and proinflammatory cytokines were analyzed in isolated ocular tissues. Optic nerve tissue was also evaluated histopathologically. Linezolid administration increased the oxidative stress marker MDA and the proinflammatory cytokine TNF-α, while decreasing antioxidant parameters such as tGSH, SOD and CAT in rat ocular tissues, compared to the healthy group. However, it did not significantly alter serum troponin I levels. Histopathological analysis revealed that linezolid induced oxidative damage and inflammation in optic nerve tissue, with marked glial alterations. ATP administration reduced linezolid-induced oxidative stress in ocular tissue, as indicated by decreased MDA levels. It also enhanced antioxidant defenses by increasing tGSH, SOD, and CAT levels. In addition, ATP lowered proinflammatory cytokine levels, thereby alleviating inflammation. These effects collectively contributed to the restoration of biochemical parameters toward normal levels. In addition, ATP mitigated linezolid-induced optic nerve damage and glial alterations. The critical role of ATP in reducing oxidative stress, restoring antioxidant balance, and suppressing inflammation may represent a promising therapeutic approach for linezolid-induced ocular toxicity.

Aydın, Bilge; Aydın, Amine Sena; Çeçen, Ömer; Yuca, Hafize; Bona, Gülnur Ekşi; Demirci, Betül; Bona, Mehmet; Karakaya, Songul

The hypothesis that insulin resistance and impaired insulin-like growth factor signaling contribute to Alzheimer's disease (AD) has led to the designation of AD as “type 3 diabetes.” Ajuga chamaepitys subsp. chia is traditionally used in Türkiye as an analgesic, tonic, and for the external treatment of hemorrhoids and wound healing. This study evaluates antioxidant, antidiabetic, and anticholinesterase activities of methanolic, aqueous extracts, and essential oils from the flowering aerial parts of A. chamaepitys subsp. chia, along with their phytochemical profiles (GC–MS/MS), morphological-anatomical characteristics, and molecular docking analysis. The essential oil yield was 0.002%, comprising 45 compounds (92.5%), with β-pinene (19.8%), α-pinene (12.8%), and germacrene D (10.0%) as major constituents, dominated by monoterpene (39.8%) and sesquiterpene hydrocarbons (23.5%). The methanolic extract exhibited moderate bioactivity, achieving 28.36% α-amylase inhibition at 5000 μg/mL and 21.85% acetylcholinesterase inhibition at 100 μg/mL, while also demonstrating notable antioxidant activity with 23.013% ABTS•+ and 8.114% DPPH• scavenging. It showed the highest total phenolic (14.261 μg GAE/mg) and tannin content (34.444 μg TAE/mg) among the tested extracts. Morphologically, the plant features hairy stems and tripartite leaves with a cuticle, trichomes, and diacytic stomata, while anatomically, it presents collenchyma, starch-filled parenchyma, and a distinct cambium in the stem. Molecular docking studies revealed that germacrene D exhibited strong binding affinities to acetylcholinesterase, butyrylcholinesterase, α-amylase, and α-glucosidase, suggesting multitarget inhibition potential. These findings support the traditional use of A. chamaepitys subsp. chia and highlight its promise as a natural source for therapeutic agents targeting oxidative stress, diabetes, and neurodegenerative diseases.

Purpose: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a global public health issue, often associated with high mortality and morbidity, especially due to cardiovascular diseases. Epicardial adipose tissue (EAT), the visceral fat surrounding the heart, has been recognized as a significant factor in cardiovascular risk. This study aims to assess the relationship between EAT and body composition in patients with stage 4 and 5 CKD using bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA). Methods: The study included 80 patients with stage 4 and 5 CKD who were not on dialysis. Body composition was measured using BIA, and EAT was assessed using transthoracic echocardiography(ECHO). Exclusion criteria included heart failure, morbid obesity, pregnancy, and pacemaker use, among others. Various demographic, clinical, and biochemical parameters were also recorded. Results: Patients with stage 5 CKD (6.7 ± 0.12) had significantly higher EAT compared to stage 4 CKD (5.9 ± 0.09) patients. EAT showed a positive correlation with age, BMI, blood pressure, C-reactive protein (CRP), and triglyceride levels, and a negative correlation with albumin and HDL levels. Multivariate analysis revealed that increased systolic blood pressure(SBP)(p:0.019),fat tissue mass (FTM)(p < 0.001), low HDL(p: 0.027), and low albumin(p < 0.001) were independent predictors of EAT. Conclusion: EAT is higher in advanced CKD patients and is associated with several cardiovascular risk factors. Measuring EAT in CKD patients using non-invasive methods like ECHO could be valuable in predicting cardiovascular risks. Addressing the factors that contribute to increased EAT may improve clinical outcomes for CKD patients.

Aldose reductase (ALR2) has emerged as a dual-function therapeutic target, critically involved in diabetic complications and cancer-related redox adaptation. In this study, a novel series of 15 chalcone-inspired heteroaryl–dihydronaphthalenone hybrids bearing indole, carbazole, or phenothiazine motifs (4a–4f, 8a–8e, 12a–12d) were rationally designed, synthesized, and systematically evaluated for their ALR2 inhibitory and anticancer properties. Enzymatic inhibition assays revealed low-nanomolar to low-nanomolar KI values, with compound 8b (KI = 3.59 nM, pKI = 8.44) emerging as the most potent inhibitor, outperforming the reference drug Epalrestat. SAR analysis highlighted the critical role of flexible alkyl side chains and polycyclic aromatic scaffolds in optimizing hydrophobic anchoring. Complementary in silico studies, including MM-GBSA binding energy calculations (ΔGbind = −56.37 kcal/mol), quantum descriptors (HOMO–LUMO gap, solvation energy), and ADME/Tox profiling (SwissADME, QikProp, ADMETlab), provided further mechanistic insight into selectivity and drug-likeness. Lead compound 8b also demonstrated selective antiproliferative activity toward A549 lung carcinoma cells (IC₅₀ = 197.6 μM), with no observed cytotoxicity in Hep3B hepatoma or L929 fibroblast lines. Molecular dynamics simulations confirmed binding stability, while target prediction analyses suggested low off-target risk. This multi-parametric evaluation underscores the translational potential of scaffold-tuned ALR2 inhibitors as oxidative stress–modulating agents with cancer-selective properties.

Statement of problem: Determining the brand and angle of an implant clinically or radiographically can be challenging. Whether artificial intelligence can assist is unclear. Purpose: The purpose of the present study was to determine the brand and angle of implants from panoramic radiographs with artificial intelligence. Material and methods: Panoramic radiographs were used to classify the accuracy of different dental implant brands through deep convolutional neural networks (CNNs) with transfer-learning strategies. The implant classification performance of 5 deep CNN models was evaluated using a total of 11 904 images of 5 different implant types extracted from 2634 radiographs. In addition, the angle of implant images was estimated by calculating the angle of 2634 implant images by applying a regression model based on deep CNN. Results: Among the 5 deep CNN models, the highest performance was obtained in the Visual Geometry Group (VGG)-19 model with a 98.3% accuracy rate. By applying a fusion approach based on majority voting, the accuracy rate was slightly improved to 98.9%. In addition, the root mean square error value of 2.91 degrees was obtained as a result of the regression model used in the implant angle estimation problem. Conclusions: Implant images from panoramic radiographs could be classified with a high accuracy, and their angles estimated with a low mean error.

The molecular mechanism of the protective effect of tianeptine against ovarian ischemia-reperfusion injury

Kalkan, Betul; Yavuzer, Bulent; Aliyev, Aydin; Cakir, Osman Kagan; Gozen, Fusun; Mendil, Ali Sefa; Coban, Taha Abdulkadir; Suleyman, Halis

Torsion of the ovary is a gynecologic emergency that occurs when the ovary and fallopian tube rotate around the infundibulopelvic ligament, causing ischemic changes in the adnexa. Tianeptine is an atypical antidepressant that has been shown to be effective in treatment-resistant depression and has fewer side effects than other antidepressants. In this study, the protective effect of tianeptine on ovarian ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury in female rats was evaluated. Four groups were created from twenty-four female albino Wistar rats before surgery (n = 6/each group): TPG (5 mg/kg/orally tianeptine-only), SG (sham operation), OIR (ovarian I/R), and TOIR (5 mg/kg/orally tianeptine + I/R). One hour before surgery procedures, the TPG and TOIR applied tianeptine. Tianeptine administration procedure was repeated once daily for six days. Under 60 mg/kg intraperitoneal (IP) ketamine and sevoflurane (inhaler) anesthesia, the right ovaries, fallopian tubes, and vessels in the OIR and TOIR groups were clamped by torsion. After 3 h of ischemia, a 6-day reperfusion period was started. Tianeptine administration procedure was repeated once daily for six days. In the SG group, the abdominal cavity was opened and closed with sutures without any intervention on the ovaries. On the seventh day, rats were sacrificed (120 mg/kg ketamine, IP), and ovaries were extracted. Levels of oxidants (malondialdehyde), antioxidants (total glutathione, superoxide dismutase, and catalase), and pro-inflammatory cytokines (tumor necrosis factor-alpha, interleukin-1β, interleukin-6) were measured in excised ovarian tissue. Ovarian tissues also examined histopathologically and immunohistochemically. I/R increased the levels of oxidants and pro-inflammatory cytokines and decreased the levels of antioxidants in rat ovaries. In parallel, histopathologic and immunohistochemical examination of the ovarian tissue revealed the presence of severe (grade 3) oxidative damage. Tianeptine significantly suppressed oxidative stress and pro-inflammatory cytokine increases related with I/R in the ovarian tissue, while also alleviating histopathological damage and oxidative DNA damage. Our experimental results suggest that tianeptine treatment may be effective against I/R-induced ovarian injury.
